The 1950s and 1960s are remembered for their spirit of optimism and a zest for life. After years of hardship and deprivation, the economy was booming in Germany and people were enjoying being able to travel again, and to savor all things good in life. A dark median stripe exhibited on the hands tapering out to a point on the new Meister Automatic was typical for designs in the 1950s era. The unobtrusive dial features a double bar index at 12 o’clock, and even the calf leather strap is representative of these archetypal designs: so evocative of the 1950s, a punched line without seam on the finished leather completes the over-all classy look of the timepiece. The case back on the rear side of the housing allows a glimpse into the self-winding movement of the watch.
